A simplistic beat gives way to mellow guitar notes as uneima welcomes us to the Version, the second single off of his debut album. The lulling chorus of sound swaying gently amidst the stalagmite-like drum sounds. The French vocals spoken with affection over the music detail a person capturing every detail of a perfect moment, counting each shape and sign of the vista before them as a life-changing moment of love occurs.
A bassline begins, leading the song down a descending path to an opening. The guitar relenting, sending curling notes timidly out into the glowing sun of the mix. The vocalist carefully describing as their lover seems to meld with the horizon behind them. A dreamlike synth joins in as the song progresses, gently and shy in its delivery it floats down toward the ground. The song ends as we hear the vocalist longing for that iteration of them that was blissfully engaged in love.
The sturdy drum pattern allows the artist to construct a simplistic but deeply affectionate song. The lyrics are beautifully delivered and the smooth tone of the guitar creates a burning feeling of nostalgia throughout.
The single is accompanied by a video shot by fu.zo.
